Whether you’re a first time cruise goer or a habitual water traveller, one of the things that you are likely to anticipate when getting aboard a cruise ship is the cabin where you’ll be staying. Of course, you won’t like to make your trip unpleasant just because you have booked the wrong cabin. Hence, it is important to have an idea beforehand about the cruise ships’ cabins so that you can have the chance to find the best cruise deal.
If you have booked a suite for a first class trip, then you won’t have to worry about the convenience and comfort of your accommodation. However, if you’re on a tight budget and have decided to book the cheapest package available, then it will be better if you anticipate some disadvantages and inconveniences of your room.
When you book an economy cabin, expect to have a bed shorter than those in first class cabins. You may also find two twin beds in your room, so if you have company, you can just push the beds together. It is also wise that you book for two people because most cabin rates are paid for two occupants. So if you are travelling alone and you only book one, you will pay twice the rate.
Moreover, when you’re in an economy class cabin, don’t be surprised to get a room situated on the lower decks of the cruise ship or the inner portions of the ship (without a window). It won’t bother you at all, though, if you get seasick because these parts are the ones that experience the least movement.
So, if you think you can pay a little more to get a better cabin, make sure to book early. The most convenient and, of course, the most expensive, cabins are the ones that sell first. Although, if you want to try the economy class first, especially when you’re a first-time traveller, feel free to do so and just observe the pros and cons when you set sail. The most important thing is that you know what you want and what makes your cruise holiday more satisfying.
