Cruises from Dubai

One of the newest cruising hotspots in the world is Dubai. With Dubai’s tallest tower, luxurious hotels, and quality resorts, everything about Dubai is overwhelming. The theme parks, amazing manmade islands, fabulous restaurants, and sports areas contribute to make this a must-see destination. No wonder that Dubai is one of the most captivating starting points for cruises in the region.

Dubai’s future plans include the Great Dubai Wheel, which will be larger than the current biggest wheel in Europe, known as The London Eye. There will also be a theme park twice the size of the Walt Disney World resort in Florida, as well as the world’s largest hotel complex with 51 hotels. By the end of 2008, the popular ocean liner, QE2, will be a floating hotel in Dubai intended for all cruise lovers.

The Arabian Gulf cruises will head to other United Arab Emirate states such as Bahrain, Oman, Yemen, and Iran. Calls in various cities will be featured in a common eight-day cruise from Dubai. Cities such as Fujairah, Muscat, and Abu Dhabi will be included. The first company to provide a cruise itinerary in the Arabian Gulf was Costa Cruises with a ship based in Dubai. The number of ships that are based in the area will be doubled by the Italian line Costa with Costa Europa and Costa Romantica both departing until March from Dubai. Other tours allow a boat trip to look at the wonderful artificial islands, “The World” and “The Palm.”

As cruise lovers, do not assume that everything in Dubai is expensive. Although there are pricey places to eat and drink in, there are also many that are extremely reasonable and of high quality.
